Description

The L293D motor driver module is a popular and widely used board for controlling DC motors and stepper motors in embedded and robotics projects. It is based on the L293D IC, which is a dual H-bridge motor driver. The module allows you to control the direction and speed of two DC motors simultaneously, or one stepper motor.

  • Dual H-Bridge Driver: Controls two motors independently.

  • Current Handling: Up to 600 mA per channel (peak 1.2 A).

  • Voltage Range:

    • Motor Supply (Vcc2): 4.5V – 36V

    • Logic Supply (Vcc1): Typically 5V

  • Diode Protection: Built-in flyback diodes protect against back EMF from motors.

  • TTL Compatible Inputs.

⚙️ Module Pin Description

The L293D motor driver module usually includes:

  • 4 Input Pins (IN1 to IN4): Control motor direction.

  • 4 Output Pins (OUT1 to OUT4): Connected to motor terminals.

  • 2 Enable Pins (EN1, EN2): Enable or disable each motor channel.

  • Vcc: Logic voltage (5V).

  • Vcc2 (Motor Vcc): Motor power supply.

  • GND: Ground.
